Cheryl Macey

Cheryl was born in Atlanta, attended Vanderbilt University (1981-1986) and worked in marketing and advertising. She has lived in Nashville since 1990 and has experience in design, renovation, and property management.

Personalized service, attention to detail, and knowledge of the market allow Cheryl to effectively serve her client’s needs. Whether finding the perfect home or preparing a property for market, Cheryl’s goal is to make the process as stress free and enjoyable as possible. She has the skills to be a thoughtful and diligent client advocate and is committed to using her energy, resources, and knowledge to negotiate the best outcome.

Cheryl’s clients have also benefited from her knowledge that many listings and sales take place outside the MLS and are not yet advertised or listed in the local MLS database. Whenever a local agent has one of these “pocket listings”, they share the information with only a handful of agents to whom they think may have potential buyers. Cheryl is invariably one of the people they call. Many of these listings are not listed on this website because they were sold off-market.

Community Involvement

Cheryl currently serves on the board of Heal Ministries. This non-profit organization reaches out to vulnerable, abandoned women and children in Jinja Uganda and teaches them sustainability and family preservation. She chaired the Eve of Janus Ball (benefiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt) and served on the Eve of Janus Board. She has been involved with the Junior League of Nashville, Friends of the Children’s Hospital, Delta Delta Delta Alumnae, Christ Presbyterian Church and was the Late Party Chair for the Swan Ball. Cheryl was one of the Founders and Board Chair (2013-2015) of the Mother Daughter Serving Circle – serving at Second Harvest Food Bank, Salvation Army, The Rescue Mission, St Paul’s Senior Living, and Project Redesign and many other non-profits in town. She helped lead two mother daughter mission trips to Haiti.

Cheryl has chaired numerous alumni and parent events and school committees at Ensworth, MBA and Vanderbilt. She also co-hosted the UT Welcome Party for Freshmen in Nashville along with the Nashville Parent tailgate party in Knoxville.

Cheryl and her husband, Jody, have been married since 1986 and have three adult children – Walton, a software engineer, is married to Emily, a youth director getting her Masters in counseling. They just welcomed their first baby, Mamie Macey. Jake worked for Bain Consulting in Dallas and now is a Vice President at New Mountain Capital (a private equity firm) in NYC. Margo is a nurse at Georgetown Hospital. Cheryl enjoys all sports, especially watching Vanderbilt and UT games and taking walks with her dog Honey.

Testimonials

“Cheryl exceeded all of our expectations! She was referred to me by a friend and did the best job recommending neighborhoods for me and my fiancé who have jobs in the Gulch and VUMC hospital system, respectively. She was conscious of traffic / commute time, proximity to busy streets / electrical plants, schools and overall resale value. She truly thought of everything possible we would have never known otherwise, and we are so happy with the purchase of our home in Crieve Hall (one in which she found prior to public listing and made sure we were one of the first offers on the property). Everything was seamless from there after the offer was accepted. Lastly, she was always available for phone calls, texts, showings, etc. constantly working around my fiancé’s busy schedule as a surgery resident (meeting him at 8pm sometimes!). Couldn’t recommend anyone more to help you find your perfect home! :)” -Corinne and Hudson

“Thank you so much for all you did to help us purchase our house & thank you for being such a fabulous teacher both during that process & in your office with my friends. I feel knowledgeable, prepared, & so joyful to now have such a great home & all of that is because of you. Thank you!” -Mary C.

“I just wanted to thank you for guiding me over the past 4 months. I went with my ‘intuition’ rather than recommendations in choosing a realtor, and I am so glad I did! I appreciate all your support, and I especially appreciate you loaning me your valuable network. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending your services in the future.” -Cecily

“We are settled into our new home and we just want to say thank you for all that you did to make this dream a reality. We love the home and our neighborhood so much and truly feel like the house was made just for us.  It has been a true blessing. We have the cutest neighbors – they are precious. We are looking forward to exploring Nashville more and meeting more neighbors and building community. Thank you for being patient with us throughout the home searching process and guiding us through it so effortlessly. You make it very enjoyable and fun! We believe it would not have been possible without you, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
