Overview
Located 25 minutes south of Franklin and 40 minutes south of Nashville, this quaint suburb offers a taste of country living in a bustling metro area. Due to the longtime presence of a General Motors manufacturing facility, and more recently Ryder System, Inc. and Mars, Inc. moving facilities into the area, the city of Spring Hill and the nearby town of Thompson’s Station have recently attracted many new families into their communities. As well as being a short 35 minute drive to downtown Nashville, the area holds its own in terms of dining establishments and cultural attractions. Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station are also rich with historical interest, having both been sites of Civil War battles that eventually became their namesakes. To experience this history, you can visit monuments like Thompson’s Station’s Jacob and Thomas L. Critz houses (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and Spring Hill’s Rippavilla Plantation, which hosts an annual corn maze and paranormal tours.
