Green Hills is a highly desirable upscale neighborhood that has everything you could possibly need — beautiful residential communities, fantastic restaurants, high-end shopping, and great school districts.
Things to Do
Green Hills is widely touted as Nashville’s premiere destination for high-end shopping. The Mall at Green Hills is considered to be the mall of choice for affluent Nashvillians. Although it first opened in 1955 as a simple outdoor strip mall, the shopping center has undergone major changes and growth over the years. Today, it boasts a 16-screen Regal Cinema and 3 anchor stores — Nordstrom, Dillard’s and Macy’s. Down the street from the mall you’ll find Hill Center Green Hills with upscale chains like Anthropologie, West Elm, lululemon and Whole Foods. Let’s not forget restaurants! A handful of favorite local haunts include Green Hills Grille, The Greenhouse Bar and etc. (sister restaurant to Etch in downtown Nashville). The new Hilton Green Hills Nashville is within walking distance of the Green Hills Mall and features the rooftop SkyBar, with one of a kind city views and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.
One of Green Hills’ most well-known cultural fixtures is the Bluebird Cafe — a tiny restaurant and music club that features both up-and-coming and seasoned songwriters every evening. After opening its doors in 1982, the establishment has helped launch the careers of countless artists like Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks. It gained national notoriety in the ABC hit television show, “Nashville”.
Where Green Hills really shines is in stock of charming single family homes, which range from classic mid-century ranches to elaborate, newly constructed mansions. Nestled on quiet, tree-lined streets, it’s not uncommon for these homes to exceed $1 million, but you can nab a nice townhome or condo in the $300,000 or $400,000 range.
Green Hills is part of the Hillsboro public school cluster, which includes Julia Green Elementary, Percy Priest Elementary, West End Middle School and John T. Moore Middle School and Hillsboro High School. In addition, there are many private school options in the near vicinity.
